How to Enable Two Factor Authentication by App

Two Factor Authentication (TFA) by an authenticator app enhances account security by requiring a code generated by the app in addition to your password, offering an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access

If you would like to enable TFA on your account, you must first contact Support@workmarket.com so our team can make the appropriate update in your account before you follow the directions below. 

Below are the instructions to take after WorkMarket Support has confirmed your account is enabled:


Step 1: Download an Authentication App

  • Choose an app: You'll need an authentication app on your phone. Popular choices include:
  • Google Authenticator (available on iOS and Android)
  • Microsoft Authenticator (available on iOS and Android)
  • Authy (available on iOS and Android)
  • Download and install: Go to your phone's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store), search for your chosen app, and download it.
  • Open your authenticator app to start logging into WorkMarket

 

Step 2: Start the TFA Setup in Your WorkMarket Account

  • Log in to WorkMarket: Log in to your WorkMarket account on your computer.
  • Go Home > My profile > Edit profile > Two-Factor Authentication > Get started or this URL: https://www.workmarket.com/two-factor-authentication
  • Start the setup: Click on the option to configure Two-Factor Authentication.

 

Step 3: Save Recovery Codes (Important!)

  • Save backup codes: WorkMarket will provide you with a set of recovery codes. These codes are crucial if you lose access to your phone or authentication app.
  • Store them safely: Download, print, or write down these codes and store them in a secure place.

 

Step 4: Connect Your Authentication App

  • QR Code or Secret Key: WorkMarket will display either a QR code or a secret key (a long string of letters and numbers).
  • Open your authentication app: On your phone, open the authentication app you downloaded.
  • Add a new account: Look for an option to add a new account or set up a new code. This is often a "+" button or a "Set up account" option.
  • Scan the QR code or enter the key:
  • QR code: If you see a QR code, tap the option in your authentication app to scan a QR code. Point your phone's camera at the QR code on your computer screen.
  • Secret key: If you see a secret key, tap the option in your authentication app to enter a setup key or secret key. Type the key exactly as it appears on your screen.
  • Save the account: Your authentication app will generate a 6-digit code. This means your WorkMarket account is now linked to the app.
  • Enter the code: On your computer, WorkMarket will ask you to enter the 6-digit code that is currently displayed in your authentication app.
  • Complete the setup: Enter the code and click "Verify" or "Submit."

 

You're done! Now, whenever you log in to WorkMarket, you'll be prompted to enter a 6-digit code or approve the login from your authentication app.
