What is Prior Balance Loading (PBL)?

Prior Balance Loading provides you, the client, the opportunity to include and load all previous payments made by your current and past contractors. This process will create an integrated 1099 for your contractors, including payments both in and outside the WorkMarket platform during the current calendar year.

If you have opted into Prior Balance Loading and once you approve the payment request in WorkMarket, each contractor will receive an email notification. Before WorkMarket uploads your contractors' prior balances, please inform your contractors the following:

• You will receive an email informing you of a $0 payment in your WorkMarket account this week. 
• This $0 payment notification will confirm that we have uploaded the previous payments you received from our company.  We aim to provide you with one 1099-NEC. This email notification means we have completed this task on your behalf. 
• As a contractor, if you have any questions, please contact the client number provided on your 1099-NEC.
